April Covid-19 Update

ECB Hockey Update

Dear ECB Hockey Club Members

This has been a challenging time for most over the past four weeks of being in Lockdown.  We have seen our country proudly work together to help wrestle down COVID-19 infection rates down.

Returning to play hockey will be exciting for some and may not be possible for others. This period will have impacted our members in many ways with many facing extreme stress both emotionally and financially and we as a committee are cognisant of this and are here to support you as we can.

Riki, our North Harbour Hockey CEO, has been working hard with his management team and NZ Hockey to get a start date for our season. Riki has said on his latest Facebook update that at Level 2 we can go back to practise with social distancing and back playing at Level 1 but no dates set.

On social media we have seen hockey tricks, photos of players in uniforms and other video performances to keep spirits high.  Our Prem Men produced an awesome preview video of ECB against NSU in the Harbour Virtual Competition. See Here

As you are aware, North Harbour Hockey sent a survey out to you all which I hope you completed to help shape what the season will look like. They also sent one to each of the Club’s Committees, which we completed.

We as a Committee are still working behind the scenes and our coaches and managers are just as committed as ever to start as soon as we have the go ahead from North Harbour. Keep tuned to our East Coast Bays Hockey Club and North Harbour’s Facebook page and ECB Instagram to keep updated.
As soon as we are advised of a plan and date from North Harbour Hockey, we will be in touch with you all. Stay safe.
